Cheni spells new hope in healthcare

Cheni, April 20: SIMS Hospital, Cheni a unit of SRM Institutes for Medical Science launched state-of-the-art Neuro ICU unit at SIMS, Cheni. The new Neuro ICU was iugurated by Prof. G. Arjundas, Senior most Consultant Neurologist of the Country.  The 10 beded Neuro ICU provides a comprehensive approach to caring for patients with severe neurologic injuries or conditions who require round-the-clock critical neuro care. This new advanced ICU equipped with advanced monitoring equipment is staffed by physicians including stroke neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroaesthetists, neurovascular interventionists and critical care specialists supported by specially trained nurses and physiotherapists. The new state-of-the-art ICU includes latest devices that can monitor intracranial pressure, brain tissue oxygen and blood flow in the brain.

Speaking on the iuguration of the new ICU Dr. Suresh Bapu, Director & Senior Consultant, Institute of Neuro Sciences, SIMS Hospital, Cheni said,  “The newly equipped state-of-the-art neuro ICU at SIMS Hospitals will eble better care for not only patients with life threatening neurological emergencies such as ruptured brain aneurysms, strokes, traumatic brain injury, and hemorrhages but also to ensure prompt recovery of patients after major neurosurgical operations. The new Neuro ICU at SIMS Hospital will eble patients for improved outcomes and shorter lengths of stay.”
