Chi monitoring radiation after North Korea n-test

Beijing, Jan 7: Chi’s environmental protection has begun emergency radiation monitoring following North Korea’s nuclear test, a media reported on Thursday. North Korea announced on Wednesday that it had tested a hydrogen bomb, Xinhua news agency reported. As of 1.00 p.m. on Wednesday, readings from 25 monitoring stations in the border areas were between 65 and 95 nGy/h, which is within the normal range. The ministry said it will conduct both automatic reading and human sampling and alysis and report the readings “in a timely manner”. (IANS)
