Chief Minister launches App for public grievances

SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday launched Chief Minister’s WhatsApp based Public Grievance Redressal Mechanism. This system enables the citizens of the state to directly communicate their grievances to the Chief Minister through WhatsApp. Addressing media persons after the launching the WhatsApp Public Grievance Redress Mechanism, Conrad said that there are lot problems faced by common man which could be solved but since citizens cannot get easy access to the government these are unattended. “But this system gives easy access for people to communicate to the Chief Minister to directly see their problem,” the Chief Minister said. He also said that once the Chief Minister’s Office receives a grievance from a citizen it is then sent to the respective department or officer to which the grievance is related. “If the direction comes directly from the Chief Minister’s office an officer will have to take the direction seriously,” he added. The Chief Minister also said that there is a need to take innovative steps to solve issue of the common man. “It is a simple and easy way to connect to the people in the grass root,” Conrad said.
