Chief Secretary Satya Gopal presents various projects’ report card under North East Council

ITANAGAR: Chief Secretary Satya Gopal on Wednesday gave a detailed status report of the various projects under North East Council (NEC), Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) and North Eastern Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS) of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) in Arunachal Pradesh in a review meeting which was undertaken by the Secretary of DoNER Dr Inder Jit Singh at the Civil Secretariat here.

Secretary DoNER Dr Inder Jit Singh reviewing the status of various projects in Arunachal Pradesh emphasized on the senior officers of the State to come up with substantial ‘Big Ticket’ projects with potential transformational ideas which will have major impact in the overall growth and development of the State.

He further urged the senior officers for qualitative improvements in the project implementation and monitoring mechanism by avoiding cost overruns and time overruns.

Secretary DoNER also reviewed the implementation status of livelihood programmes in the State and progress of implementation of various programmes in ‘aspirational districts’ like Namsai.

The Secretary was accompanied by Joint Secretaries JK Sinha and Saurabh Endley

Satya Gopal projected some practical issues for consideration from the DoNER. He further requested the visiting dignitaries to kindly increase the fund allocation, especially in the water supply, education, health and connectivity sectors. He also placed before the delegates the dire need of an institute of par excellence like AIIMS which will serve as an iconic institute not only in Arunachal Pradesh but also in the entire Northeast.
