Child labourers rescued by Sivasagar District Child Protection

DEMOW: In a sudden operation conducted by the Sivasagar District Child Protection and Rehabilitation Committee with the help of the District Labour Department, as many as five child labourers were rescued on Saturday from two brick kilns of Sivasagar.

The children hail from poor families and the owners of the two brick kilns – HMT brick kiln in Dehajan Habi Gaon and MD Brand brick kiln in Kathalbari Gaon – had engaged them in industrial work. The district authorities rescued them and after conducting their health examination, they were admitted in a government residential free education centre at Joysagar Pukhuri Par of Sivasagar.
