Child Protection Day observed

UDALGURI, March 4: Child Protection Day was observed at Golmagaon High School in Udalguri district.

 An art competition was organized among the students of Golmagaon High School and ME School where more than 100 students took part. A street campaign to create awareness among people in the Indo-Bhutan border villages was also carried out by the District Child Protection Unit, Udalguri.

 The main function was held at Golmagaon High School. An awareness rally was also brought out in Udalguri town with school children. The opening speech was delivered by Gautam Saharia, the District Child Protection Officer. The meeting was presided over by Gopal Chandra Chhetry, the Headmaster of Golmagaon High School. Dithakanda Hazarika, the ADC of Udalguri, urged the people to provide a secure childhood for the better future of the young generation. Manik Chandra Sarma, Parshuram Bashista, Amarendra Swargiary, ndeswar Daimari and Jayanta Brahma, the Secretary of District Legal Service Authority, among others attended the meeting.
