Goalpara, Sept 21: The Goalpara district administration reviewed the child protection scerio in the district. Chairing a meeting of District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Nur Hussain, Additiol Deputy Commissioner, emphasized ensuring the care and protection of the children below 18 years of age as per Juvenile Justice Care and Protection Act, 2015. While addressing the different stakeholders, ADC Nur Hussain directed to find out the measures through which the cases of child labour and child marriage might be brought down. CWC chairperson Sofikul Ahmed briefed the house that 16 child marriage and six child labour cases were brought before the CWC till September.
