Children participate in educatiol, cultural events at book fair

Dibrugarh, November 26: On Wednesday, the book fair event witnessed a grand assembly of children, participating from 45 schools of the district,  who gathered to be a part of a programme christened as Shishu Hotor – Geet Maat, held, at about 2.30pm.  The students from these schools took part in various educatiol and cultural activities which included music, painting, poetry recitation, and similar other acts.

Later in the day, an event was held in which the former president of Axam Xahitya Xabha, Dr. gen Saikia, iugurated a musical CD of  ba Kumar Bora, titled Mur Dhon Bakhor, 2016.

In a corresponding event, Dr. gen Saikia, together with the well-known author Purobi Bormudoi , formally released  books  authored by seven different writers.

The day concluded with a melodious and pleasing cultural event, where renowned flute and saxophone instrumentalist Kailash Rabha mesmerized the spectators with his soulful symphonies. The melodic evening was also graced by Bihu Samrat, Khagen Gogoi and popular artiste Bipin Chaodang, who enthralled the audiences with their heartwarming melodies.

In addition to the scheduled programmes, the book fair did not lose its charm of wooing local populace here to the stalls who queued up to buy volumes of their favorite authors. Children were even seen eyeing for their much loved children fantasy novels apart from picture and painting books.  Book lovers and readers were also observed having a good time in searching for their desired books, apart from others visitors.
