China veto on Masood, no Jammu & Kashmir polls Modi’s failures: Omar Abdullah

Srinagar: National Conference leader Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that China’s veto against JeM chief Masood Azhar being declared a global terrorist and not holding Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir were “big failures” of the Modi government. Abdullah tweeted: “China places a ‘technical hold’ on Masood Azhar in the UN again! Pakistan gets its way once again.” The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister described the China move and the inability of the central government to hold Assembly elections in the state as failures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“PM Modi surrendered to China on Azhar and surrendered to Pakistan & its proxies by delaying elections in J&K. How can the BJP claim to have been tough on internal security and tough against terror?” He also took a dig at Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad for his comment that Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s statement following China’s move on the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief would become headlines in Pakistan.
