Chinkoi FC lift trophy

Margherita, Oct 1: Chinkoi FC beat Deomali FC by a solitary goal to lift the second edition of Thansen Wangchadong Memorial Foorball Tourment trophy at the jam-packed Nehru stadium on Friday.

There were altogether 27 teams from across Tirap district competing for the coveted trophy, handsome cash award of Rs 1,00,000, medals and certificates. The prizes for the winners, runners-up, best disciplined team and other individual prizes were given away by Chasum Wangchadong, SP, DC, Lowangdong and Sawin amidst a mammoth gathering. Domwang Lowang of Chinkoi FC was adjudged the highest scorer with 6 goals while Wanglak Lowang of the same team was the best goal keeper. Tuwang Hutu of Khunnu FC was the best player of the tourment and Khunnu FC was adjudged the best disciplined team. The 36 CRPF doted sports equipments to the players of both the teams.
