OUR CORRESPONDENT

ITAGAR, June 27: In order to connect Taraso area of Papum Pare district with the rest of the state, the government has decided to operate chopper service from Itagar. Taraso is presently cut off from the rest of the state due to extensive damage caused to Balijan-Taraso road by monsoon rains. Deputy Commissioner, Taye Kaye accompanied by Taraso circle officer, Kipa Raja inspected the helipad at Taraso and took stock of the landing standards on Friday, before giving the clearance report to the civil aviation department. The chopper service is also being introduced in view of the tense border relationship with Assam due to border dispute and the recent Behali incident, said a press statement.
