Chotto Prochesta observes International Day of Yoga

Silchar, June 23: Chotto Prochesta, a Silchar based NGO, has been working relentlessly and conducting some out-of-the-box programmes and events. Their way of working stands out from others. The NGO observed International Day of Yoga at two separate venues in a single day. 40 members of the NGO, from dawn to dusk, plunged into it for making the day a successful one. In the first phase, Chotto Prochesta organized a camp at Barakhai High School which started at 7.30 am through an enlightening inaugural address by the principal of the School, Uttam Singh. 350 students, teachers, guardians and NCC personnel participated in the observance of yoga day.

The second phase of the observance of this day was held at Netaji Vidya Bhawan which started at 10.30 am. Debanjan Mukherjee, principal of the School and Bikramjit Chakraborty, advisor of the NGO, in their respective speeches, laid stress on performing yogic exercises. They spoke at length about the significance of this Day and also advised all to practice yoga. 250 students, teachers and others participated in the programme. The NGO’s yoga trainer Buddhadeb Purkayastha and Shreyasi Paul trained all the participants and showed them some Yogic exercises.
