CISF seizes Gold bars, one arrested in Guwahati

GUWAHAT: Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel on Sunday during a routine check at the LGBI Airport here seized 39 gold bars weighing 6.48 kg that was concealed in a bag from a person identified as Lalthuthlungliana. On interrogation, he informed the personnel that the gold was delivered to him by a person in Aizawl. He was planning to board Air India flight A1730 to Kolkata. The seized gold is valued at around Rs 2 crore. The CISF has handed over the person along with seized gold to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence for further probe, sources added.
