City grieves and protests over Jammu & Kashmir attack

GUWAHATI: The city towns remained deserted on Saturday as shopkeepers shut down their shops and came out on the streets protesting the heart breaking incident in Jammu and Kashmir. Thousands of people gathered on the streets of Fancy Bazaar grieving the loss of the CRPF soldiers which included a son of Assamese soil Maneswar Basumatary.

Cries of “Pakistan Murdabaad” “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” rendered the air as flags of Pakistan were burnt. Protestors also gathered under Ganeshguri flyover while the shops in the market remained closed. The entire city expressed their grief over the loss of the brave martyrs.
