City lift Guwahati Challenge trophy

GUWAHATI, March 23: Rahul Hazarika smashed 94 balls unbeaten 105 runs and guided City Cricket Club to lift the Servo 22nd Guwahati Challenge Trophy All Assam Prize Money Cricket tourment defeating varang club by 8 wickets in the fil held at the Judges ground here today. City Cricket club, chasing 191 runs to win, reached the target in 30.5 overs. Rahul took just 94 balls to play the unbeaten knock of 105 runs with the help of 15 boundaries. Tarjider Singh also played well and scored 45 runs in 56 balls. Earlier, elected to bat, varang were bowled out 190 in 40 overs. Ranjit Changmai (57) scored half century while Biplob Saikia contributed 37 runs on the board. Shuhel Rehman (3-40) was the most successful bowler for City Cricket club. Rahul Hazarika later adjudged man of the fil award. Tarjinder Singh, who performed consistently throughout the tourment, collected the man of the tourment award. The other award winners are-Roshan Basfor (varang club, best batsman), Kon Kumar Urang (Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre, best bowler), Sekharjyoti Barman (varang club, best fielder), Nirendra Deka Raja (Gauhati Town club, best wicket keeper) and Samanya club (fair play award).
