City to host mixed Martial Arts meet

GUWAHATI, July 30:  All India Mixed Martial Arts Championship will be held in the city from August 19. Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phukan Indoor Stadium will be the venue of the 2-day meet. Addressing the media Bhabajyoti Choudhury, a key official of the Bidang MMA Academy which will organize the meet, said, around 150 participants from the different parts of the country are expected to participate in the meet. In the women section there will five weight categories while for the men the number of weight categories are 9. Choudhury also added: Assam will put two teams in the competition.
