Civic action programme by 64th SSB in Bhutan border

KOKRAJHAR, Aug 25: The 64th Bn.SSB conducted medical civic action and veteriry civic action programme at LP school, Jaligaon in Indo-Bhutan border area on Wednesday for the flood-affected border population.

Dr. Ankur Tripati, medical officer of the unit, examined more than 120 patients. The medical officer administered the treatment to patients who were suffering from various infections and diseases. He also explained the harmful effects of consuming locally produced alcohol which might eventually cause permanent loss of sight.

On the other hand, Dr. Maj Choudhury veteriry officer, examined 300 domestic animals and suggested the methods for healthy growth and development of various domestic animals and poultry as well. People from the nearby villages like Bongaon and Jairampur interacted with the presiding officer Parkash, second in command, incumbent head of the 64th Bn.SSB. Prakash Baswal, Deputy Commandant of the 64th Bn. said that the initiative of the medical civic action programme for border people was part of the welfare activities of the people- friendly force.
