Clash broke out between BJP and Congress workers in Samuguri, Five reportedly injured

Samuguri: Tensed situation in Samuguri's Laokhuwa Bhurbandha Gaon Panchayat after a clash broke out between the ground level workers from both BJP and Congress party on Thursday.

At least five people from both Congress and BJP party had been reported injured during the clash.

As per reports, a felicitation programme was conducted at the Laokhuwa Bhurbandha Gaon Panchayat under Nagaon District today where the Gram Rojgar Sahayek (GRS) and the Panchayat secretary were also attacked by some alleged goons of the BJP party, claimed the Congress workers.

The Congress workers also alleged the goons of the BJP had attacked the GRS and the Panchayat secretary in front of the police and CRPF jawans.

Moreover, the alleged goons had also chased them away and were being blocked by them from attending the programme, said one of the Congress members.

The alleged BJP goons had also attacked upon the winning candidates from the Congress (public representatives) who won the Gram Panchayat elections, the party from Congress claimed before the media.

It has also come to light that few miscreants had allegedly abused the local journalists who were reporting the incident from the ground zero.

On the other hand, workers of the BJP party workers claim that the clash broke out for not inviting the winning BJP candidate in a felicitation programme organized for the winning candidates of Panchayat election.

Meanwhile, additional security forces have been deployed to control the situation.
