Class Boycott Calls by All Nagaland College Students' Union on Non-fulfillment of Three-point Charter of Demands

All Nagaland College Students' Union (ANCSU) submits a three-point charter of demands to the Chief Minister of the state on Friday and reiterates that if their demands are not fulfilled then the students of the state would boycott their classes. The students' union is, however, quite serious and rigid on its terms and have made it clear that any college student on being found disobeying the call of the union, would have to face serious outcomes. It has also made sure that the volunteers of the students' body would be closely monitoring the institutions in the state and hence, any student disobeying the call would be traced out easily.The ANCSU also requests the college authorities and the staff to understand and cooperate with their demands as according to them whatever is being done is for the welfare of the students only. in the meanwhile, the union acknowledges the support extended by the college authorities as well.The union also said that the students would be intimidated as to when to resume attending the classes through print media along with the their respective college students' unions, but for that, the state government would also have to be ready to agree with their demands. for any sort of communication or information on the calass boycott call by the union, it has asked the students to contact the union's representatives in their respective districts.As an act of demonstrating protest against the Government and putting forth its three-point charter of demands, the union staged a peaceful demonstration in front of its office in Kohima and at DC Court junction. The only thing the students union wants is the chief minister Neiphiu Rio's approval on their demands. As per the call of the students' union, all colleges in the state remained shut since Friday and is expected to remain closed to an uncertain period of time, until the union considers it appropriate to call off the boycott.
The Three-point charter of the All Nagaland College Students' Union wants CM Rio to resolve the land encroachment issue of Kohima Science College, Jotsoma. it has made it clear that no college land will face encroachment. Other demands include proper demarcation of boundaries of all government colleges with fencing or concrete walls, permanent settlement of scholarship issue of the students.
