Class VIII girl Student allegedly kidnapped in Dhekiajuli

DHEKIAJULI: A Class VIII girl student of Pirakata Lulukai village near Dhekiajuli under Dhekiajuli subdivision was allegedly kidnapped by one Shyphul Islam on March 4.

The family members of the kidnapped girl lodged an FIR at the Dhekiajuli Police Station on March 6. Police began investigation. Shyphul Islam surrendered on Monday at the Dhekiajuli Police Station and police produced the accused at the Tezpur session court and the court sent him to Tezpur Jail.

The family members of the victim alleged that Shyphul and a female accomplice tried to sell the girl to a child trafficker. They also alleged that during this period, Shyphul Islam had sexually assaulted the kidnapped girl. The local people have demanded strong action from the administration against the accused.
