Classes at Ledo ITI must start soon, demands AJYCP

MARGHERITA, Dec 13: Activists of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) Margherita on Monday took out a torchlight rally at Ledo town in protest against the failure to open Ledo ITI School and to provide 50 beds to Ledo Mini Public Health Centre.

More than 100 activists of AJYCP were present at the torchlight rally and shouted various slogans against the BJP-led government of Assam.  Kanchan Bora, general secretary of AJYCP Margherita Regiol Committee, said that Ledo ITI was started during the Congress regime and the construction work has been completed but till today the classes had not started. On June 4, a memorandum was given to Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma but unfortutely no action was taken, he alleged.

Again on  August 30, a 30-hour hunger strike was staged at Ledo Central Rangamancha for providing 50 beds at Ledo Mini Public Health Centre and a memorandum was submitted to State Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma but till today the demand has not been fulfilled, said Bora.  “We demand that classes at Ledo ITI should be started immediately and 50 beds should be provided at Ledo Mini Public Health Centre and if these demands do not get fulfilled soon then soon AJYCP Margherita Regiol Committee will launch an agitatiol programme in Margherita,” he said.
