Clean Dibrugarh, Green Dibrugarh run held

DIBRUGARH, March 23: The tiol Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Awareness Week, which kicked off on March 16, concluded on Sunday with a community run for ‘Clean Dibrugarh, Green Dibrugarh’. Deputy Commissioner M S Manivann formally flaged off the community run at Chowkidinghi Play Ground in presence of a large gathering from various walks of life. More than 500 participants including officials of government departments took part in it. The run after passing through various parts of the town later culmited at Chowkidinghi Play ground where prize distribution was held.  Bedabrata Hazarika, Kiran Das and Bijoy Basumatari won the first, second and third prizes respectively. The entire week marked by block level semir, street meeting, cycle rally, procession and screening of drinking water in order to sensitize the people.
