Cleanliness drive after Vijaya Dashami at Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: With the view to keeping the ambiance clean and hygienic, the district administration, in association with the Dibrugarh Municipal Board, took up a cleanliness drive on Saturday, a day after the Vijaya Dashami celebrations.

While the festival was observed with great aplomb and turned out to be a cross-cultural affair, many among the people were seen giving environmental concerns a backseat by strewing all kinds of items at various places.

The cleanliness drive, which started in the first half, covered all the streets, Dibrugarh Town Protection Dyke and the immersion ghat. A similar drive was also conducted by an NGO named Chikun from Thana Chariali to Phoolbagan early in the morning on Saturday.
