Cleanliness drive by Legal Services Authority and KMB in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, August 31: A cleanliness drive was carried out in Kokrajhar town from Basic Training Centre on Monday at the behest of Kokrajhar Municipal Board (KMB) and District Legal Services Authority, Kokrajhar with a view to clean up Kokrajhar town.

MLA of 30-Kokrajhar East, Pramila Rani Brahma iugurated the cleanliness drive from Basic Training Centre in presence of Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Madhav Prasad Sharma and Superintendent of  Police Shymal Prasad Saikia. She said cleanliness was important for health and hygiene. She further called upon all to inculcate basic sense while disposing off waste materials in Kokrajhar town and also drew the attention of the Deputy Commissioner and Kokrajhar Municipal Board (KMB) in disposal of garbage.

A meeting was also held at Basic Training Auditorium Hall with Bishnu rzary, chairman of the KMB in the chair. The meeting was also addressed by the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, MLA Pramila Rani Brahma and Assistant Session Judge-cum-Secretary of District Legal Services Authority, Monmi Sharma. The meeting was also attended by senior citizens and hundreds of members of SLRM as well as local people. The Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police also called upon all people to come forward to make Kokrajhar clean.
