HOLLONGI, July 18: A cleanliness drive was conducted by the 12th Bn NDRF in corodination with the Hollongi Rajgarh Market Association at Hollongi Rajgarh Market, Assam on Wednesday. The programme was carried out as a part of Swachhta Phakhwada Awards-2018.
The 12 Bn NDRF team was led by Inspector Indra Singh Bisht. He stated that the motto of the drive was to spread awareness on cleanliness among the local dwellers and shopkeepers of the neighborhood.
He lauded the people for participating in such cleanliness drive. He also informed that the drive is a part of many other programmes or activities under the Swachhta Phakhwada Awards-2018 which was started on 16 July last and will culminate on 31st July.
Participating in the cleanliness drive, the president of the Hollongi Rajgarh Market Association, Lokhiram Basumatri, thanked the NDRF team for participating in the programme. He, however, pointed out that, many a time they tried to conduct the cleanliness drive at market area but due lack of fund and man power it failed.
“Though we conduct weekly cleanliness drives in the market area yet it is not enough to keep it clean thoroughly. We now assure that this cleanliness drive will continue at the marketplace in the days to come,” he added.
