Club Iccheda's children talent hunt contest on Feb 21

SILCHAR, February 15: Club Iccheda is going to organize a children talent hunt competition on February 21 here at district library auditorium. The competition will be held in three groups. Group A consists of the students of class I to class III, the students of class IV to VI will be in group B and group C comprises the students of class VII to class IX.

 The interested candidates can enroll their mes by February 18.

 The president of the Club Ichcheda Sarmistha Deb said that there will be four rounds in the contest. The first will be introductory round, which will be followed by ‘smart walk in traditiol dress’, ‘judges’ questions round’ and the fil round.

 There will be a panel of judges comprising three well-known persolities hailing from Barak Valley. Only five to six candidates will get into fil. In the fil round, the participants will have to showcase their own talents and they will be asked a few ‘common questions’. On the basis of the performance of the candidates, three persons from each group will be awarded with prizes, certificates and medals. All the nine candidates, three from each group, will be awarded with Manindrath Dutta Memorial  and Surama Dutta Memorial awards.

 Sarmistha Deb said that they are organising the event on the occasion of Intertiol Mother Tongue Day which falls on February 21 to pay respect to the martyrs who had laid down their lives for the sake of mother tongue. She added to say that the models associated with Ichcheda will walk on ramp cladding Bengali attire. Besides, a cultural extravaganza will take place. She said that the participation in the competition will develop the persolities of the children. She said that the children would also get an opportunity as well to express themselves and showcase their talents on the big platform.
