CM attends Buddhist deity  statue installation ceremony

Itagar, March 26: Aruchal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Sunday attended the statue installation of Buddhist deity Chenrezig (four-armed Avalokteshvara) gifted by Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama at Ku-Brah Mukto village.

Speaking at the religious gathering at Kitdhung Gompa, the Chief Minister said it was a blessing moment for all of the people as His Holiness himself gifted the sacred idol for Mukto village, an official report stated on Monday.

Khandu earlier offered prayers at Kitdhung Gompa and also announced funds for its renovation. He also announced for the establishment of a cultural centre at Mukto.

The Chief Minister further informed the villagers that Rs 15 crores under BADP had been sanctioned for construction of the VKV at Mukto.
