CM awards schools for cleanliness

GUWAHATI, June 28: Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal today awarded as many as ten schools with Rs 20,000 each for maintaining cleanliness and certificates to six other schools at a function at Rabindra Bhawan in Guwahati where he released the World Children’s Annual Report, 2016. Sonowal also launched teaching-aid kits meant for creating appropriate teaching environment at schools for children. Speaking at the function, Sonowal said: “The State Government laid thrust on all-round development of children so as to make them assets for the tion. Children, teachers and guardians need to accord importance on cleanliness so as to meet the 2019 target of making totally clean. I appeal to each guardian to offer a sapling to each of their wards on their birthdays to plant.” Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was also present at the meeting. He said: “Today’s child is the future of the country. We need to develop them properly. The aim of our government is to remove ibilities in children.” PHE Minister Rihon Daimary was also present at the meeting. He also laid stress on cleanliness. Education officials, teachers and students were present at the function.
