CM slams NPP

Staff Correspondent
Shillong, July 19: The fall of tiolist People’s Party (NPP)-led Executive Committee (EC) in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) is due to “greed for power and money”. This was stated by Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, who attacked NPP leaders Conrad K Sangma and James K Sangma. On Monday, Boston Marak deserted the NPP and took over the reins as the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the GHADC. Marak, immediate cousin of the Sangma brothers, was elected on an NPP ticket before switching sides. On the latest development, the Chief Minister told newsmen that “money is the root cause of all evils. If people cannot control their greed for money this is what happens.”
