CM stresses need to work with the ideals of Sardar Patel

Dibrugarh, October 31: Along with the other parts of the country, the tiol Unity Day was observed here at Dibrugarh Chowkidinghee Play Ground to commemorate the birth anniversary of Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The occasion was graced by Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal, who in his address, stressed upon the need to work on the ideals of Sardar Patel.

Sonowal further stated that his government was committed towards working towards the overall development of the people of the State in letter and spirit. CM Sonowal urged the people to keep a tight vigil over the workings of the government and to act as the guardian of the government. 

Speaking further, Sarbanda Sonowal sought the cooperation of the people in resolving the long-stretched and unending problems of the State. The ethnic, indigenous, linguistic and religious issues of the State, needed to be worked out gradually which might require some time and for this the people must extend their support to the State Government for lasting peace and harmony, he said. He appealed to all classes of people to shun the path of violence and espouse the principles of non-violence as advocated by the Father of the tion, Mahatma Gandhi.

Assam to be developed into a Best State in the coming days, the ideology of ‘Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vikas’ must be espoused to construct the concept of ‘ Team Assam’ and every individual residing on the geographic  periphery of the State irrespective of caste and creed would be a member of this Team Assam, Sonowal stated.

Sonowal said that in the coming days, the State BJP government would work towards securing the cultural and linguistic identity of the Assamese people and that feelings of insecurity residing high in the minds of the people must be sidetracked as the present government would make every possible effort to develop the Assam into a powerful State.

Chief Minister Sonowal laid stress on the fair utilization of the State resources for the development of the State.

The meeting was attended amongst others, by former president of Axam Xahitya Xabha, Power Minister Pallav Lochan Das, MLA Lahowal, Ritupar Baruah, MLA Chakradhar Gogoi, MLA Prasanta Phukan  and Deputy Commissioner Loya Madduri.
