CM visits Kaziranga tiol Park

KAZIRANGA, August 25: On Thursday, Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal, accompanied by cabinet ministers Atul Bora and Keshab Mahanta, visited the only wildlife rehabilitation and conservation centre of Kaziranga tiol Park (KNP) to feed milk to the wild orphan rhino cubs and elephant calves on the auspicious occasion of Janmastami.

Sonowal took stock of the facilities being provided to animals rescued during the flood and also attended an anti-poaching meeting held at the convention hall of KNP. Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police (SPs) of the three districts of Golaghat, gaon and Karbi Anglong were present at the meeting.

Sonowal stressed employment opportunities for the unemployed local youths in the surrounding areas of KNP and said that he would increase the land area of the wildlife rescue centre of KNP.
