Colourful celebration marks I-Day in Dhekiajuli

DHEKIAJULI, August 16: The 69th Independence Day was celebrated in different parts of Dhekiajuli  on Saturday.

In the morning Dhekiajuli Revenue Circle Officer   Jayanta Sarkar hoisted the tricolor  at the Swahid Moidan, Dhekiajuli.   Various social workers, political leaders, senior citizens and local people attended the function. Addressing the gathering at the Swahid  Moidan, the Circle Officer Jayanta Sarker  elaborated the significance of the day and urged the people to  strengthen the world’s largest democratic country by taking appropriate steps. In the meeting,  Kajal Borah, a distinguished persolity of Dhekiajuli,  Apurba Bhattacharjee, Assam Government spokesperson, local MLA Habul Chakraborty, social worker Prodip Kumar th and Dhekiajuli Municipality chairperson   Ranjita Jaisowal were also present. In the ACMS Branch office   of  Borsola Branch, the tri-colour was hoisted by   Tapan Sen Gupta, the centre-in-charge of the Study Centre, KK Handiqui State Open University, Sonitpur Dhatri Sewa Samity.
