Committee on Public Undertakings visits APL

NAMRUP, May 22: The members of the Committee on Public Undertakings, Assam Legislative Assembly, led by Atul Bora, chairman of the committee, visited Assam Petrochemicals Limited, Namrup on Monday. After visiting the existing methanol and formalin plant along with the ongoing project activities of the 500 TPD New Methanol Expansion Plant, the committee members held a discussion with the officials of APL. In the discussion, several aspects pertaining to smooth plant operation, execution of project-related activities and different challenges being faced by APL in this regard were discussed.

Besides, the officials of APL submitted a letter to the committee members requesting the government to take proper measures to resolve the challenges faced by the company. The chairman of the committee expressed his deep concern on the matters raised by the APL officials and assured to expedite committee support to overcome the challenges of APL for the greater interest of the State.

At the end of the meet, the APL Workers’ Union and APL Officers Association submitted memoranda separately to the committee. The Committee on Public Undertakings also visited AGCL and NTPS on Monday.
