Communicative English is need of the hour: VC

ITAGAR, Sept 5: Rajiv Gandhi University’s English department has launched a three month Certificate Course in Communicative English (CCCE) from the current session.

The course programme was formally iugurated on Friday by Vice Chancellor Prof Tamo Mibang who, had visualized the course to reach out to the people outside the regular curriculum of the University, a press release informed.

In his speech the VC observed that though English is an intertiol language but has remained for the elites only so far and it is needed to be percolated to the common mass, and in order to fulfill the responsibility toward society, the course has been introduced. The Vice Chancellor also unveiled “My Space”, the Wall Magazine of the Department.

Registrar, Prof Rachob Taba congratulated the department and the new entrants for expressing their interest in this course. The Dean, Faculty of Languages, Prof A R Parhi emphasized on the need of communicating the ‘self’ to the ‘other’ through the CCCE Programme. Speaking on the occasion the Deputy Registrar, Dr David Pertin also expressed the importance of English as a global language which must come in handy for the budding talents of Aruchal Pradesh. The Head of the department, Dr Bhagabat yak, delivered the welcome speech while the course coorditor, Mr Prachand rayan Piraji proposed the vote of thanks. The iugural session was anchored by PG class representative Kenli Nyorak, the release added.
