Community outreach programme at Jowai

Shillong, May 24: With the objective to expose higher secondary school students to the varied field of entrepreneurship and business administration, the Department of Management and Commerce Studies, Martin Luther Christian University today organised a community outreach programme in Jowai and was attended by the students of several schools and colleges from Jowai. The event titled ‘Manroi: A Management Event’ was held in the auditorium of the Kiang Nongbah Government College, Jowai. The day started off with a short introduction about the university with emphasis on experiential learning, which plays a major role in the teaching-learning process in MLCU.

The programme was purely student-led which gave the students of the department a platform to showcase their organisational and management skills. The event included various activities conducted by the different academic departmental clubs like the Human Resources club, the Marketing club, the Finance club and the Entrepreneurship Development club.

These activities were designed to help the students from the schools and colleges to learn about team building, leadership, marketing, performing under pressure and the like.
