Community Vedic Upanayan Sanskar held at Udalguri Arya Samaj

UDALGURI: A community Vedic Upanayan Sanskar was held at Udalguri Arya Samaj with a two-day-long programme. A total of 11 teenaged boys received the upanayan during the programme.

Dr Aruna Kashyap, Vedic scholar, conducted the upanayan sanskar to the boys. The programme began with the hoisting of flag by Haribhakta Sarma, the president of Udalguri Arya Samaj, followed by plantation of tree saplings by Karna Bahadur Sonari. A hawan satsang was also performed.

A series of lights were also lit in memory of martyrs. The next day the programme began with a floral worship in the replica of Sri Ramchandra followed by lighting of lamp by litterateur Tarapati Upadhyaya. A discourse on Sri Ramchandra was also delivered by litterateur Laxman Adhikari and Vedic Upanayan was held.
