Complaint filed against DGP

GUWAHATI, Feb 20: A person lodged a complaint in the Police Accountability Commission following non-acceptance of his FIR by a city police station against the DGP, Assam Police. On the basis of his complaint, the Police Accountability Commission has sought a report on the issue from the Guwahati City Police Commissioner within February 28.  As per allegation levelled by the complaint, the DGP illegally grabbed a bigha of land out of 9 bighas owned by an NGO med ‘Life Foundation’ near Deepor Beel. Some IPS officers are reportedly involved with this NGO.

When DGP Mukesh Sahay was asked about this issue, he said, “An enquiry has already been conducted by the Guwahati Police Commissioner and the report filed with the Chief Secretary.”

It may be mentioned that a case in this regard is also currently ongoing at the Court of CJM, Kamrup.
