Concern grows for missing Tripura journalist

AGARTALA: Concern is increasing over the disappearance of a journalist from Kanchanpur under North Tripura district and failure of the police to detect him even after seven days.

Kanchanpur correspondent of a Dharmanagar based cable TV channel Tinku Nath on August 27 came to a club in Kanchanpur and after some time left for his house at Karnajoy Para and since then remained untraced. Police detained one of his friends Subinoy Nath and interrogated him.

Reportedly Subinoy told the police that Tinku dropped him from his bike in front of his house and left. Since then he also have no contact with Tinku. Police is still interrogating Subunoy and hopeful that they will be able to rescue Tinku within next few days. Disappearance of Tinku has casued serious concern among the journalists and the common people in Kanchanpur. Bikash Das, convener of the Kanchanpur Press Club expressed grave concern over the incident and urged police to rescue him.
