Concern over dilapidated condition of NH-52 road

DHEMAJI, Dec 11: The poor condition of the NH-52 from Kulajan to Bormuria of Dhemaji district near Silapathar has become a concern for the people of Assam and Aruchal Pradesh.

The NH-52 passing through Dhemaji district is a very busy road. The road construction contract was given to Border Roads Organization (BRO) but it was observed that the BRO completely ignored the responsibility for which the company has been engaged since the last 15 years. Their slow pace of work has worried the people of Dhemaji district. There are many potholes on the road between Kulajan to Bormuria. Poor metallic work of the road proves the negligence of the organization. Being an important border road, the Dhemaji district administration as well as different organizations had approached the BRO to give top priority to the road construction work. However, the BRO has allegedly shown lackadaisical attitude in this regard. Similarly, the BRO assured the district administration and AASU to finish the work of Samarajan Road within December but as yet BRO has allegedly shown no interest in completing the work within the stipulated time.
