Concern over poor attendance of students

From our Staff Correspondent
DIBRUGARH, December 15: The guardian meet held here at DHSK College recently was presided over by the Principal of the college, Dr Sashi Saikia. The meeting was convened only to discuss problems arising out of   irregular attendance of the students, as the Principal claimed. The authority has arranged special classes, Dr Saikia stated, during the ongoing month-long semester   break of the colleges under Dibrugarh University in order to help students academically. To facilitate the students, the authority also engaged new teachers despite immense fincial constrain, but Dr Saikia said, poor attendance of the students in those classes had put the authority as well as faculty members in great anxiety. Appraising the situation, the Principal urged upon the parents and guardians of the students to give a deep look into the problems and help college authorities in their efforts to achieve academic excellence. Parents and guardians in their respective deliberations lauded the initiative of the college authority and vouched all help to the Principal and other faculty members, if need arose, fincially also.
