Conclave on innovations in science begins

SILCHAR, March 24: A three-day tiol level Research Scholars’ Conclave on Recent Innovations in Science and Engineering (RISE) – 2017 is being conducted at NIT Silchar from March 24 to March 26. The theme of the Conclave is ‘keeping in mind the fast changing scerio of technical education in India’. To be relevant in this competitive world, a need is felt to prepare the students to nurture innovations. ‘Innovate’ or ‘evaporate’ is the mantra of today’s world. Students should be given freedom to innovative and even freedom to fail also. This is the first time that a tiol level research scholars’ Conclave is being organized here. In this Conclave, 78 papers have been selected presented by the research scholars from various parts of the country. This Conclave is multidiscipliry in ture and the research scholars will get a platform to exchange their views and ideas. Prof. K L Chopra, the former Director of IIT-Kharagpur and Padma Shri awardee, graced the Conclave as chief-guest during the iugural function and delivered the key-note address. Moreover, many distinguished academicians will also deliver their talks. The Conclave attended by eminent academicians will greatly benefit the research scholars to fulfill their aspirations and some of them will also be motivated to take up Prime Minister’s Fellow Schemes for Doctoral Research. Inspiratiol messages have been received from President of India, Governor of Assam, Minister of Human Resource Development, Chief Minister, Education Minister, Secretary, MHRD, former Chairman BOG, NIT Silchar, Director, IIT Guwahati and Vice-Chancellor, Assam University.
