GUWAHATI: Expressing displeasure over the fact that Jyoti Prasad Agarwala is still misinterpreted, Parthajit Boruah, who has been undertaking research work at National Film Archive of India, Pune said that Agarwala was born on July 2, 1903 not on June 17 of the same year. “In 1926, while Agarwala took admission in Edinboro University, Scotland his date of birth was mentioned as July 2, 1903 in his admission receipt,” Boruah added. Boruah said this while addressing a gathering at a felicitation programme organized at Guwahati Press Club on Friday.
During the occasion, the Cultural Journalists’ Union, Assam (CJUA) felicitated numbers of its fellow media persons and researchers of the discipline who brought laurels from various platforms. Including Boruah, the CJUA felicitated Arun Lochan Das, Shibanu Bora, Gopal Jalan, Bitupon Borbora, pranjal Bora, Rajdeep and Jugal Lochan Das.
