Congress candidate files papers in Lakhimpur

Lakhimpur, Nov 2: Dr. Congress candidate for Lakhimpur parliamentary constituency bypoll, Hamohari Prasa Pegu today submitted nomition in presence of the Congress leaders. A meeting was organized at the District Congress office in Lakhimpur where Ripun Bora, Rakibuddin Ahmed, Apurba Kumar Bhattacharjee were present.

Pegu said he was confident to wining the seats and will save the people from the misrule of the saffron party.

“The BJP government has failed to solve the Hindu Bangladeshi issue. Major problems like Hindu Bangladeshi issue, rise of price of essential commodities and many others issues has not been solved yet. The government completely failed to fulfill the promises given to the people before the Assembly polls,” Pegu said. Three other candidates—Hamkanta Miri, Dilip Moran and Amiya Kumar Handique— also filed their nomitions to the DC today for the by-poll election.
