Congress flays Khandu government

From Our Correspondent

Itagar, Feb 19: The Aruchal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has strongly criticized the state government for its alleged step-motherly attitude towards the genuine demands of the Joint Working Committee of Aruchal Pradesh Trade Union (JWCAPTU).

“As a result of the state government’s failure to fulfill the demands, they were compelled to launch the state-wide hunger strike at Tennis Court of Indira Gandhi Park here,” the APCC stated in a release. With the skyrocketing prices of all essential commodities, it is very difficult for casual workers to make two ends meet with the meager salary they are receiving presently. It is the moral responsibility of the government to look into their genuine demands, but surprisingly, the government has failed to address their problems,” the release said.

At a time, when the Central and state governments’ regular employees are getting benefits of the 7th Pay Commission, those contingency workers have to take the path of agitation due to negligence of the state government to fulfill their genuine demands, the APCC said and urged the state government to immediately address their genuine demands.
