Shillong, May 22: Ampati by-election campaign is gaining momentum with attcks and countering attacks bt the NPP and the Congress.

All india Congress Committee Mahilla president MP Sushmita Dey came down heavily on Narendra Modi government regarding the petrol and diesel price rise, gas cylinder price rise effecting the common people stating that the Modi government is for the corporate sector. She further said that the Modi government has failed on all fronts, she said

Attacking NPP led government in Meghalaya, she said, “I’m telling you Conrad Sangma’s government will not even last till the coming Lok Sabha election… and I’m sure he also knows that his government is not going to last and perhaps that is one of the reason why he didn’t dare to stand in Ampati constituency and is waiting for the six months to complete so he need not even contest at all because even before that his government is going to fall. All is not well with the coalition partners,” she said, adding

“NPP has to advertise in newspaper inviting if anybody is willing to contest from Ampati constituency. Well perhaps Conrad Sangma chickened out of the contest in Ampati knowing the fact that they were fighting a losing battle.”
