Amardeep Ronghang, Congress leader and Mukul Handique, chairman, Minority Board, KAAC, criticized the Opposition for ‘playing dirty politics’ in Karbi Anglong. “False propaganda is being spread among the common voters to gain political mileage. Even false and fabricated allegations have been charged against non-Karbi popular leader Kharsing Engti,” both the leaders said.

While addressing the media persons, both the senior Congress leaders denied the allegation of siphoning of fund sanctioned against the under construction bridge over the Jamu river near Samaguri under Howraghat legislative assembly. They further said that Engti had no role with the construction work of the bridge. Even strict order was given by the HAD Minister to complete the work immediately.

The Handloom & Textile land grabbing allegation against Kharsing Engti was dismissed and relevant documents were produced by Deuri Lekthe, chairman, Howraghat Town Committee in connection with ongoing construction works and land.

Lekthe denied the land grabbing charge and fund irregularities of the children park in Howraghat town. He said that no land had been allocated in the me of Howraghat Children Park. “If there is no land in the me of the children park then how can developmental scheme be sanctioned against the children park?” the town committee chairman questioned.
