Contractors’ bills pending for years: AARCA

From Our Correspondent

Itagar, March 3: The All Aruchal Registered Contractor Association (AARCA) has lodged a complaint with the Chief Secretary against the Chief Engineer (Power), EEZ and the Executive Engineer (Elect), Deomali Electrical Division and others for allegedly harassing few firms and their attorney holders by not clearing their pending bills amounting to several lakhs of rupees as well as irregularity in the NIT for works of DESD /Deomali under SPA during February-March 2016. In its complaint letter, the AARCA alleged that the bills of M/s NB Supply and Agency, M/s Shree Ganesh Associates and M/s Jangba Enterprise have been kept pending for 5-6 years for obvious reason by the officials despite issuance of clearance letter to the Chief Engineer by Investigating Agencies and SIC (Vigilance), Itagar regarding materials supplied by those firms. Rather, they have lodged false and fabricated complaints against those firms at Longding Police Station and various other places, the AARCA said.

The Association also alleged that one of the attorney holders of the firms have received threatening message from anti-social elements to withdraw his application seeking information through RTI Act from the EE, Deomali. According to AARCA, the EE has not yet provided information as sought by the applicant even after eight months. It alleged that the terms and conditions of the NIT were framed so that no firm can participate in it other than one firm which happened to be the business partner of the EE.
