Countdown for Indian rocket launch progressing smoothly

Cheni, March 8: The 54-hour 30 minutes countdown for the launch of an Indian rocket carrying the country’s sixth vigation satellite as the sole passenger is progressing smoothly, said senior official of the Indian space agency. “Like the countdowns for the flight of many other earlier rockets, the countdown is progressing smoothly,” a senior official of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) told IANS. The countdown for the launch of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) carrying Indian Regiol vigation Satellite Sytem-IRNSS-1F began at 9.30 a.m. in the Sriharikota rocket port in Andhra Pradesh. The rocket standing 44.4 metres and weighing 320 tonnes is expected to blast off around 4 p.m. on March 10. (IANS)
