CPI (M-L) demands immediate revocation of Bill

GUWAHATI, May 18: The Assam state CPI (M-L) in a press meet here on Friday has demanded to revoke the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 at the earliest observing that the BJP-RSS scripted Bill with a clear intention to institute a Hindu Rashtra will destroy the secular, democratic and constitutional foundation of the nation besides bringing crisis to the ethnic language, culture, economy and indigenous political rights of Assam.

Central executive member of the CPI (M-L) Bibek Das stressed that the contentious Bill has been plotted as a part of the BJP-RSS’ strategy to build a Hindu Rashtra for which Das appealed all the caste, community and cultural group of the state to oppose the Bill in tooth and nail.

Das ridiculed that after transferring hundred acres of land to Baba Ramdev and eviction of indigenous tribal from their land, the so-called warriors of ‘The last Battle of Sarigaht’ are trying to fantasize that the indigenous people can be protected only by welcoming the illegal Bangladeshi migrants. “BJP want to widespread the communal radicalism by putting the Hindu Rashtra agenda in front so that they can reform the economic policy in favour of the corporate from behind. In this clandestine, the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 is directly helping the BJP meeting their intention”, said Das. Falling out on the BJP’s forceful capturing of power, the left front argued that after the Nagaland, Manipur and Goa, the Governor’s sanction to the BJP to form the government in Karnataka submitting to the diktat of the RSS has exposed the BJP’s camouflaged fascist agenda. The CPI (M-L) has observed that the BJP-led Centre as well as the State government has put the so called Jati-Mati-Bheti into a great deal of crisis.
