CRPF jawan killed by drug addict

JORHAT, July 5: A CRPF personnel identified as Dibakar Das (34) succumbed to his injury on the line of duty after a 20-year old boy med Tadar Motu, a habitual drug user from Daporiju, Upper Subansari district attacked two CRPF jawans with a knife while the drug addict was being brought to the district hospital on Sunday night after he was detained by Aruchal Police for using drugs in public place.

While Dibakar succumbed to his injury on Monday, the other jawan identified as Sagar Sangam is said to be out of danger. Dibakar’s body reached Yupia on Tuesday and was sent to his hometown Mirza in Kamrup district. The incident has shocked the people of both the States, especially after the news went viral on social media about the death of the CRPF jawan in the hands of a drug addict.
